Below is a brief history of Trinity in Oregon City…..
Early Era
• September 1928 – Trinity School opened with grades 1 through 6 with 11 students.
• 1930-31 – grades 1 through 8 were available.
• 1934 – Trinity High School first senior graduation.

• 1969 – School closed

Modern Era
• September 1994 – Preschool opened with 11 students
• School year 2004- Kindergarten opened with 8 students
• School year 2005- First grade opened with 10 students
• School year 2006- Second grade opened with 5 students
• February 2007 – Trinity named first Interim Principal in modern era
• April 2007 – Trinity Lutheran School begun strategic planning process
• Spring 2008 – National Lutheran School’s Accreditation Self-Study Begun
• August 2008 – Part-Time School Administrator Position Created and Filled
• April 2009 – Trinity receives recommendation for National Lutheran Schools Accreditation and accreditation by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools

Mission Statement

Trinity Lutheran School exists as a ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church to provide children with a Christian-based education opportunity that incorporates the entire child’s being and nurtures his/her own personal aspirations and abilities.

Staff

Susanne Walters (Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten Teacher)
Susanne has been a teacher at Trinity Preschool since September 1994. She is a graduate of Warner Pacific College, and previously taught first grade in Arizona. She also has experience as director and teacher of a preschool in Milwaukie. Susanne and her husband enjoy boating and camping with their family. She has a great love for the Lord and His people and enjoys the opportunity to serve Jesus at Trinity School!

Michelle Wolfe (Kindergarten Teacher)
Michelle graduated from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska in May 2002. After graduation, she took a call to teach at an elementary school in Houston, TX where she taught for 3 years. She has been a part of the Trinity staff since 2005. She recently earned her Masters of Science in Reading and Literacy.

Bev Petersen (Sign Language)
While living in Illinois, Bev taught kindergarten at St. Paul Lutheran School. After moving back to Oregon, she worked at the LCMS district office for 3 years and then as church secretary at Trinity Lutheran Church for several years. Bev then began a career at Concordia University, as assistant director to the College of Education and academic advisor to students in the education program. While working at Concordia, Bev also studied sign language. Bev retired from Concordia in 2006 and joined the Trinity staff that same year. With 24 grandchildren, there are lots of gymnastic meets, soccer games, swim meets, track, basketball, and other activities to keep her busy. Bev also enjoys reading, sewing, and stamping/card making.

Char Anderson (Music)
Char began her career in music as a young student, when she learned to play the flute in beginning band. She is now a professional flutist and private instructor. She learned to play other instruments over the years, including piano, guitar, clarinet, and even learning a little saxophone and trumpet. She worked as the beginning band instructor at Oregon City Community Schools for 3 years, and still works with the elementary, middle, and high school bands of Oregon City, giving sectionals and clinics to the students. Char has been married for more than 25 years and raised 4 boys, who all were active in band in school, and who have now grown into young men of whom she is very proud.
